The elegant grandeur of Victorian architecture combines with impressive contemporary spaces at the National Museum of Scotland, an international and cultural hub at the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. For almost 150 years, the building has inspired millions of visitors from Scotland and around the world. Today, this world-class National Museum is also an inspirational venue for the 21st century.
The Museum with all its splendour of elegant pillars, staircases and fine Victorian architecture is a spectacular backdrop to any event. The recent £46m refurbishment features the Grand Gallery with a capacity of 850 guests for formal dining and up to 1500 guests for drinks receptions.
The newly created street level Entrance Hall with its vaulted arches and stone pillars creates a unique atmosphere whilst providing first class facilities for guests. Although a venue space in its own right, the Entrance Hall provides the perfect location for drinks receptions prior to dinner in the Grand Gallery.
There are also 16 new galleries, many of which are available for events including a Special Exhibition Area where dedicated international touring exhibitions will be displayed. For conferences and meeting space the Museum offers a 200 seat Auditorium with adjacent breakout areas available for registration, exhibition and catering.
